Svay Rieng—In Monday morning on 25 June 2018, the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, H.E. Meng Hong , Deputy Director of NSSF, presided to prepare the dissemination meeting on Policy Implementation of Social Security Schemes to factory administration, shop steward, local trade union, and workers amounted to 55 at Lu Thai (Cambodia) Co.,Ltd located in the Chheo Lou Special Economic Zone in Svay Rieng province.
He said that this meeting is held to disseminate the policy implementation of social security schemes and challenges as well as particularly strengthening of benefit provision service to workers by explaining more clearly about social security schemes:
- Occupational Risk Scheme refers to workplace accident, commuting accident, and occupational diseases.
- Health Care Scheme refers to health insurance, medical care, health prevention, and daily allowance due to sickness or work injury and maternity leave that workers shall receive these services free of charge at 1,319 health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF at any time.
He added that until now there are 11,952 enterprises/establishments with 1,461,182 workers have registered in NSSF and 1,319 health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF that all NSSF members shall access medical care services free of charge.
He also certified that because of high attention of the Royal Government under leadership of wisdom of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, through Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training whose NSSF is an operator, in 2019 the social security scheme on Pension will be launched in order to allow workers to have pensions after they complete all conditions of work seniority (years of service).
