  • NATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY FUND (NSSF) PROVIDED MEDICAL CARE SERVICES UNTIL RECOVERY TO FAINT WORKERS IN KAMPONG CHHNANG PROVINCE

    Kampong Chhnang—On Saturday 07 July 2018, of 1,244 workers in total, there are 35 faint workers working in KAI NENG LEATHER PRODUCTS factory situated in the National Road 5, Long Vek commune, Kampong Trolach district, Kampong Chhnang.

    The cause of the faintness above started from one worker had mental problem and fainted in the factory; when other workers saw such situation, they felt panic-stricken and fainted massively (Mass Psychogenic Illness).

    Of 35 faint workers, the Kampong Chhnang NSSF officials facilitated and collaborated with the factory administrator to send 15 and 20 to receive emergency at Tae Vanna clinic and Ordoung referral hospital respectively. To ensure the safety of workers and avoid the continuous faintness, employer postponed the production activity temporarily and allowed them to take rest for 01 day.

    Team for Prevention of Faintness and Work Injury (TPFWI) of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training inspected the situation of factory and found the actual root of faintness.

    Cost for transportation, emergency, and medical care services until recovery for victims is borne by the National Social Security Fund of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.
