  • NATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY FUND COLLABORATED WITH GENERAL DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT TO CONTINUE CAMPAIGNING THE DRIVING EXAMINATION FOR WORKER-TRANSPORTING DRIVERS AT THE SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE IN PREAH SIHANOUK PROVINCE

    Preah Sihanouk—The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) nominated Road Traffic Safety Team for Worker Prevention (RTSTWP) to collaborate with General Department of Transport to prepare the driving examination for worker-transporting drivers who don’t have the driving licence through online automation system for driver’s license registration and test at the Special Economic Zone in Preah Sihanouk province.

    This examination aims to allow all worker-transporting drivers to have driving licence by category of vehicles as set forth in the traffic law.

    This campaign was participated by 67 worker-transporting drivers—26 did not have driving licence and 41 had driving licence not suitable with the category of vehicles (category of driving licence: D). The Procedures of this examination have driving lesson and wheel practical.

    This driver’s license registration and test was monitored and managed by the online automation system of Ministry of Public Works and Transport by requiring all candidates to follow the instruction rigorously.

    According to the trimester 2 in 2018, RTSTWP certified that traffic accident of workers decreases 10% if comparable to the trimester 1 in 2018. There are 8 times of traffic accident offended by worker-transporting vehicles.

    RTSTWP of NSSF will collaborate with General Department of Transport of Ministry of Public Works and Transport to offer the driving training course and the driving examination to worker-transporting drivers in order to allow them to have driving licence by category of vehicles as stipulated in the law in line with the supreme recommendation of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

    RTSTWP also appealed all worker-transporting drivers to:

    • Obey the traffic law rigorously.
    • Not overload workers.
    • Check the truck before going to take workers.
    • Inspect the truck regularly.
    • Have driving licence by category of vehicles.
    • Attend the training course of the NSSF team on Traffic Law.
    • Adhere to 10 moralities of the National Road Traffic Safety Committee.
