Kampong Thom—On Friday of 19 October 2018, the team of Rehabilitation Division of the National Social Security Fund distributed walking stick and Zimmer frame (walking frame), guide how to use assistive device, and investigate the living standards of victim as well as convened the meeting with Kampong Thom NSSF branch officials in charge of rehabilitation.
The team visited and distributed 03 workers suffering from work injury as follows:
- A worker, born in 1985, works in Tan Bien Kompong Thom plantation situated in Kroya commune, Sontuk district, Kampong Thom province, encountered a traffic accident on 26 August 2018 leading to fractured thigh bone. The NSSF officials facilitated victim to receive treatment. In present, the injury of victim gets better although the interlocking nail has not been removed because the victim received treatment in line with the appointment of doctor. Moreover, the victim can move due to walking stick.
- A worker, born 2000, works in Fantastic Pure Drinking Water Company located in Kroyov commune, Stung Sen district, Kampong Thom province, encountered a traffic accident on 05 January 2018 leading to get thigh bone, shin, and ankle fractured. The NSSF team facilitated victim to receive treatment. Because so far the victim had been difficult to stand up and have movement, the team distributed wheel-chair for movement and chamber pot for defecation and allowed the victim to continue receiving treatment. Presently, the injury of victim gets numerously better; moreover, the team not only kept on distributing a walking frame in order to ease his movement, but also facilitated his treatment.
- A worker, born in 1979, works as machine repairer in Angkor Plywood Co., Ltd located in Tropang Russey commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province, encountered a traffic accident on 18 July 2018 leading to get thigh bone and shin fractured. The NSSF team facilitated victim to receive treatment. Nowadays, the injury of victim gets better and he can move by the walking stick distributed by the team even though the interlocking nail has not been removed.
In the meantime, the team guided the victim about the use of assistive devices and encouraged them to try to move by the assistive devices in a bid to recover soon.
It’s certified that by October 2018, the team has provided medical rehabilitation services such as orthosis and prosthesis, splint, assistive device, occupational therapy, and physical therapy; particularly, the team advised and guided 44 victims (20 females) equal to 48 times before providing services.
For the situation of victim, the team went to their houses and observed that their injuries become better and are friendly. They said that if the NSSF team had not helped them, they did not know how serious their injuries become. For these cases, both provincial NSSF branch officials and the rehabilitation team went to follow up the injury situation of victim from the beginning. The team has distributed the assistive devices to them for easing their movement and facilitated their treatment.
