Phnom Penh—Mr. Sum Sophorn, Deputy Director of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, convened the discussion meeting with representatives of 05 national hospitals located in Phnom Penh.
This meeting was held on Wednesday morning of 12 December 2018 in the Grand Meeting room of NSSF and taken part by both parties amounted to 30 participants.
Mr. Sum Sophorn certified that this meeting focused on the determination of medicine price out of essential drug list for chemotherapy, pre-chemotherapy, side effect of chemotherapy, and palliative care for the NSSF member.
In the meantime, this meeting aimed to urge all national, sub-national, and private health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF to pay more attention to the NSSF member in relation to medical care service provision with effectiveness and punctuality.
He added that some workers don’t raise precise awareness of the procedures of accessing medicine care services free of charge in the health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF. Therefore, to better medical care service provision, NSSF requested all health facilities for contributing to take more responsiveness.
The National Social Security Fund has currently signed the agreement with 1,335 public and private health facilities—1,292 public health facilities and 43 private health facilities—in order to provide services to the NSSF member on time and effectively.
This is the response in line with the supreme recommendation of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, so that both formal and informal workers receive social protection services for promoting welfare and livelihood of workers.
