Phnom Penh—The National Social Security Fund of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training collaborated with the Ministry of Mines and Energy to organize the event to distribute the NSSF membership card and disseminate the policy implementation of social security schemes to leaders, civil servants, and contract officials of the Ministry of Mines and Energy to be held in the office of ministry concerned on Friday morning of 21 December 2018.
H.E. Sum Sophorn, Deputy Director of the National Social Security Fund, said that until now NSSF has dispensed its membership cards to public employees of 14 ministries; additionally, NSSF still carries on collaborating with other ministries for handing out its membership cards to public employees for accessing social security services free of charge in the health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF.
He added that Referring to Inter-Ministerial Prakas No. 291 LV/PrK, 25 July 2016, on Agreement on Health Service Consumption and Provision for Health Care between the National Social Security Fund and Health Facility, NSSF has signed the agreement with 1,335 health facilities (from health center to national hospital)—1,292 public health facilities and 43 private health facilities.
He certified that since 2008 NSSF has provided the following benefits:
- Occupational risk benefits have been granted to 216,357 of 1,614,339 members who are working in 12,688 enterprises/establishments.
- Health care benefits have been given 1,850,719 cases/times to 1,614,339 members who are working 10,152 enterprises/establishments.
NSSF has registered public employees, former civil servants, and veterans amounted to 314,076—204,084 public employees, 55,222 former civil servants, and 54,770 veterans. Until now public employees, former civil servants, and veterans accessed medical care services amounted to 2,201 cases/times.
NSSF will continue strengthening and extending the implementation of social security schemes on Occupational Risk and Health Care for all workers and public employees as well as strive to launch pension scheme for workers and occupational risk scheme for public employees in 2019.
