Phnom Penh: Mr. Hon. Abdul Bahari, Chief of Administrative Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Kenya, said that the Republic of Kenya is a country where is located in the North Africa continent and has 580,367 square kilometers with a population of over 49.7 million by the year of 2017.
The economic growth of this country is 7% on average and the gross domestic product (GDP) is USD 1,507 per capita. In 2016, it just established the National Employment Authority that has not operated completely and is studying additionally from other countries including Cambodia.
He added that he was really interested in and appreciated highly the achievements of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) of Cambodia for sharing its own experiences and good practices such as the launch of social security scheme on Occupational Risk and Health Care workers and Pension which will be launched in the future, and the procedure of enterprises/establishments registration and contribution collection of NSSF; furthermore, he can raise more awareness of the establishment and policy implementation of social security schemes as well as National Strategic Development Plan of Cambodia in coincidence with the Republic of Kenya just created the National Employment Authority in 2016.
It’s certified that H.E. Heng Sophannarith, Director of Policy Division and Representative of H.E. Ouk Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director of the National Social Security Fund, presided over in the meeting with the Delegations of National Employment Authority of the Republic of Kenya to be held in the grand meeting room of the National Social Security Fund on 06 March 2019 after the delegation had had the consultation meeting with H.E. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, in the office of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training yesterday.
