Phnom Penh—In Tuesday afternoon on 22 May 2018, the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training convened the dissemination meeting on the Policy Implementation of Social Security Schemes at Green Tree (Cambodia) Garment Co.,Ltd located in Khan Pou Sen Chey, Phnom Penh.
This event was presided over by H.E. Meng Hong, deputy director of NSSF, and participated by factory administrators, shop stewards, and workers amounted to approximately 50 participants.
The purpose of this dissemination meeting is to publish the benefits of social security schemes and the implementation of social security schemes on Occupational Risk and Health Care to the factory administrators, shop stewards, and workers.
He said that since launching social security schemes until trimester I in 2018, NSSF has registered 11,696 enterprises/establishments with 1,452,341 workers (877,117 females). Particularly, in this trimester I, NSSF has registered 847 enterprises/establishments with 17,025 workers (8,931 females).
He made a remark to workers related to health care, work safety, hygiene, eating nutritious food, working hard, contributing to maintain employment stability because the enterprises/establishments are the income source of workers, and avoiding joining the gang groups that could cause chaos and social disorder in the society.
Finally, he requested that all workers should cast their ballots to be held on 29 July 2018 in order to utilize their rights to elect their satisfied leader every five years.
