  • NATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY FUND DISSEMINATED POLICY IMPLEMENTATION OF SOCIAL SECURITY SCHEMES TO EMPLOYERS IN BANTEAY MEANCHEY PROVINCE

    Banteay Meanchey—On Monday of 28 January 2019, the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, collaborated with Banteay Meanchey provincial hall to convene the dissemination meeting on Policy Implementation of Social Security Schemes to departments and relevant institutions as well as employers. The event was presided over by H.E. Orm Chantha, Acting Governor and Representative of H.E. Governor of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Board of Governors, H.E. Meng Hong, Deputy Director of the National Social Security Fund and Representative of H.E. Ouk Samvithyea, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director of the National Social Security Fund, Mr. Ruos Sarum, Director of Provincial Department of Labour and Vocational Training, Dr. Keo Pichsovann, Deputy Director of Provincial Department of Health, Ms. Srey Phao Khemarin, Deputy Director of Provincial Department of Economy and Finance, Mr. Thor Hor, Head of NSSF Provincial Branch, District Governors/Deputy Governors, Directors of Hospitals and Health Centers, Representatives of employers, Representatives of victims, Representatives of health facilities signed the agreement with NSSF, and Representatives of ACLEDA, CANADIA, WING (Cambodia) Limited Specialised banks amounted to 137 participants.

    H.E. Orm Chantha expressed his pleasure for joining the dissemination meeting on Policy Implementation of Social Security Schemes to Directors of Provincial Departments, Representatives of relevant institutions, employers, and Representative of NSSF of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, and appreciated the Banteay Meanchey NSSF branch for making efforts to implement its duties with effectiveness, transparency, accountability, and punctuality.

    On such occasion, H.E. Orm Chantha requested as follows:

    1. For the compliance with the Law on Social Security Schemes for Persons Defined by the Provisions of the Labour Law, please NSSF would strive to better implement social security schemes on Occupational Risk and Health Care and convene the dissemination meeting at least once a year for employers and workers to raise more awareness of social security schemes.
    2. All employers shall comply effectively with the Law on Social Security Schemes for Persons Defined by the Provisions of the Labour Law and register their workers as well as pay contributions of Occupational Risk and Health Care on time in order not to lose the benefits of workers.
    3. All provincial institutions, departments, and authorities involved shall collaborate with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to reinforce the law effectively with the aim of contributing to develop the Cambodian society with harmony.

    H.E. Meng Hong said that this meeting aims to disseminate the policy implementation of social security schemes, progress, and challenges, and especially strengthen the service provision of Occupational Risk benefits to workers. He added that until now NSSF has issued Occupational Risk awards to 216,357 workers among 1,614,339 workers of 12,688 enterprises/establishments. Partly, for Health Care Scheme, NSSF has provided services to 1,850,729 cases/times among 1,850,719 workers of 10,152 enterprises/establishments.
